The federal school meals program has announced that schools may offer free school meals to ALL students through December 31, 2020. Beginning immediately, no students will be charged for school meals through Dec 31, 2020. HOWEVER... for students who receive free/reduced lunches, it is still important to return the free/reduced application by NEXT WEEK to continue to receive free or reduced lunches after December. There will be no grace period in January and students who have not returned a form will be charged starting Jan. 2, so please turn in your forms ASAP!!

First day of school is Monday, August 24th! A few things to know: 1) Students who get dropped off at school should use the North Gym entrance. This is the car rider entrance for students. Please do not use the circle drive in the front or the front entrance to drop off students unless they are checking in during the day. 2) If you need bus information, go to: go.sdale.org/transportation 3) Students who arrive before 8:30 will go to the cafeteria and wait there. At 8:30, we will dismiss students to their homeroom class where they will get their schedule and more information about how the first few days will work. We will have LOTS of adults in the cafeteria to help students know where their homeroom class is and who is their HR teacher.

First day of school (Monday, Aug 24): Students should be contacted next week by their Homeroom teacher by phone, text, or email to let them know where to go on the first day of school. Student schedules will be handed out on the first day in Homerooms. Students who arrive at school prior to 8:30 will report to the cafeteria, and at 8:30 all students will go to their Homeroom class. If you don't hear from your homeroom teacher, please email the principal, Dr. Shepherd, at mshepherd@sdale.org and we'll make sure you are contacted.

Parents: Does your child need a Chromebook to use at school and home? The linked digital AUA form must be completed for a laptop to be issued to your child. Hello Lakeside parents, If you have not already completed the Learning Model Survey to indicate if your students will be at school on the 5-day, 3-day, 2-day or all virtual option, please complete this survey by August 5th. You can access the survey on our webpage, ljhs.sdale.org and scroll down under the Live Feed section. There is a letter attached that explains all of the options in detail.

Breaking news: Lakeside JHS Counselor Lauren Willis was named today as the Middle Level Counselor of the Year for the state of Arkansas!   Lauren was named the NW Arkansas Middle Level Counselor of the Year back in the Spring, and today was named the state winner in an announcement by Laquietta Stewart, President of the Arkansas School Counselor Association.   Congratulations to Lauren!

Las ubicaciones de ALMUERZO GRATUITO están disponibles durante el verano para estudiantes de 18 años y menores. Están abiertos los lunes, miércoles y viernes de 11:30 a.m. a 12:30 p.m. en las escuelas intermedias Sonora, JO Kelly Middle, Bayarri Elementary, Parson Hills Elementary, George Elementary, Jones Elementary y Smith Elementary. FREE LUNCH locations are available during the summer for students aged 18 and under. They are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:30am-12:30pm at Sonora Middle School, JO Kelly Middle, Bayarri Elementary, Parson Hills Elementary, George Elementary, Jones Elementary, and Smith Elementary. Students will receive 2 lunch meals and 2 breakfast meals on Monday and Wednesday, and 1 of each on Friday. Children must be present to receive the meals. Check our webpage for more information about the free lunch program.

Hello Lakeside parents. We have several important end of the year announcements. If your student has a school-issued chromebook, or any library or teacher books, those must be returned to the main office by the end of this week, Friday, May 22. Also, All school work is due by Friday of this week by email or into the blue mailbox on the front porch at Lakeside. Also, if you have any personal items in PE, athletic, or regular lockers, you need to come get it by Friday of this week. Any items not claimed by Friday may be discarded or donated after this week.. Please call the school office at 750-8885 to come claim your locker items this week.

Students: If you have items in an athletic locker, PE locker, cheer locker, or regular locker that you need to get, please call the school office at 750-8885 and let us know when you will be here to pick them up. We will retrieve the items for you after you call the office and have them in a bag at the front door waiting on you. Please call first to give us time to go get your items. All items not claimed by May 15 will be discarded unless you call to ask us to hold them for you.
