Today's National School Counseling Week spotlight is Mrs. Maegan Gower. Maegan Gower, has been our GJHS Ozark Guidance Counselor for four years where she serves students in need of mental health support through individual and family therapy. When asked why being a counselor is important, she said, “Being a counselor is important because I get to be a positive support for kids through various areas of struggle and help them achieve goals through understanding and managing emotions. I am thankful to work in a school that cares for their students and supports their mental well being through social and emotional learning!” We are so lucky to have Mrs. Gower at GJHS! Thank you for all that you do for our students! WE LOVE MRS. GOWER!

Wrangler Families: We are experiencing a high number of students who are tardy in the morning. We start school at 8:45. Students should be in their classrooms at 8:45. To accomplish this students should be dropped off by 8:30 am and quickly enter the building to get to class. We appreciate all the help we can get to have students arrive on-time to school.

This week is National School Counseling Week. We will be spotlighting one of our school counselors each day this week. Today's spotlight is Mrs. Andrea George. Andrea George, has served the students at GJHS as School Counselor for five years. When asked why being a counselor is important she said, “Being a counselor is important for lots of reasons. Counselors get to serve students in developing their emotional, social, mental, and academic well-being. Counselors are able to process things that happen in students' home lives, social circles, or academic journey with them and provide support that they may not have elsewhere. Working together, we get to figure out manageable ways to handle situations and develop solutions. I love being a school counselor! I love getting to serve both students and teachers as an extra support, a listening ear, and hopefully a reassuring presence.” We are so lucky to have Mrs. George at GJHS! Thank you for all that you do for our students! WE LOVE MRS. GEORGE!

Wrangler Families: Buses $145 and #155 will NOT be running this week. If you can get your student to and from school each day we will excuse a late note and will stay until 5 pm for them to get picked up. If this is not an option, please have them email Mrs. Eads and they need to be working from home on Google Classroom. Students please email your teachers about your work and questions you have or help you need.

Wrangler Families: Bus #145 will not be running a morning or afternoon route today or Friday. If you plan to take your student to school, please have someone ready to pick them up by 4:00. If you cannot get your student to school or pick them up, they should be getting on Google Classroom and doing work from home. Have your student email their teachers about assignments they complete and questions they might have. We are sorry for this inconvenience and are glad the district provided Chromebooks for students to continue to use them from home in these situations. We are hoping the bus will be running on Monday, Jan. 25. Please call the GJHS office between 7:30 and 4:30 if you have questions.

Wrangler Families: Over the past week or so, we have noticed several issues that needed to be addressed or friendly reminders regarding your student's Chromebooks and/or the use of your student's Chromebooks.  Please read the following important information.  This information will not only save you money on damages, it will also help keep your students safe.  (Any charges that you receive for damages to your student's Chromebooks here at GJHS will follow them to their next school (High School or another Junior High).  They will not receive a Chromebook there until their charges have been paid). Hopefully by following these reminders, the amount of charged damages will be minimal.  Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!.
