Outstanding Service Provider Award
The School Board honored the Springdale Schools psychology team, who are the recipients of the Outstanding Service Provider Award from the Arkansas School Psychology Association.
The award highlights innovative service delivery and a commitment to growth, often acknowledging groups or individual specialists for their statewide contributions.
The award recipients were formally recognized during a ceremony at the ArPA Annual Fall Convention Oct. 9-10 in Little Rock. This prestigious event provides a platform to showcase the outstanding work of our colleagues and inspire future generations of mental health professionals.
This is the third time Springdale has earned this award.
ArPA awards encompass various categories, acknowledging excellence in areas such as community mental health, private practice, research, academia and volunteer service. Nominations are welcome from all qualified individuals, regardless of ArPA membership status.
Industrious Learning
The School Board also celebrated the impact of the 5th Annual Industry Day, which was featured Oct. 9 at Don Tyson School of Innovation.
The landmark event successfully connected about 1,000 Northwest Arkansas high school students from some 15 districts with a dynamic, hands-on look into high-demand careers in the skilled trades and industrial technology.

National Principals' Month
October is National Principals Month, and we’re shining a spotlight on Springdale principals!
Har-Ber High School Principal Dr. Paul Griep shared a special story of attending the Sept. 27 University of Arkansas vs. Notre Dame game with school custodian and friend Cory Ray.
While Jones Elementary School Principal Jill Jackson shared information on how she worked with the entire school staff, from custodians to administrators, to help Jones increase by two school performance letter grades in a year.
These dedicated leaders play an essential role in shaping their communities, paving pathways to success for every student and staff member in their schools.
This month, we don’t just honor our principals, we advocate for them, urging for strategic support that equips them to thrive in their pivotal roles.
The celebration and advocacy work are a shared endeavor between the American Federation of School Administrators, the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Together, they're committed to supporting and uplifting the cornerstone of our educational system—our school principals.
Excellence in Construction
Springdale Public Schools’ development projects are earning accolades.
Southwest Junior High School and the work of the Baldwin and Shell Construction Company team were recognized with two awards from the Arkansas Associated Builders and Contractors.
The junior high school project earned both the Excellence in Construction and the K-12 Institutional Project awards, which consider leadership, safety, innovation and quality, according to Troy Musson, Baldwin and Shell executive vice president.
ABC likewise honored Baldwin and Shell with the 2025 Chairman’s Award, he said. Baldwin and Shell’s work was one of 54 projects considered for the award, which is presented to just one organization annually.
The honors are about more than the quality of Baldwin and Shell’s work for the district, Musson said.
“It’s also a reflection of the strength or our partnership with Springdale Schools,” he said. “We certainly are truly honored to share these accomplishments with you and to continue the district’s mission to provide these outstanding facilities and learning environments for students.”
ABC is a national construction industry trade association representing more than 23,000 members across the United States. The Arkansas chapter has served the state’s commercial construction industry since 1975.
The core purpose of ABC is to advance and defend the principles of the merit shop philosophy in the construction industry and to provide members and their employees with an opportunity to succeed.
