The Springdale School Board officially appointed Chad Smith to fill the vacant Zone 2 seat during its June 6 meeting. A Northwest Arkansas native and Springdale resident since 2008, Chad brings deep community roots and a personal commitment to the district as a father of three Springdale Public Schools graduates.

Chad brings a wealth of financial and sharp professional experience to the board, currently serving as:
Vice President & Commercial Loan Officer at First Security Bank.
Board Member of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce.

Stepping into the role with a "Kids-Come-First" mindset, Chad is focusing his efforts on three key areas:
Supporting Teachers: Ensuring educators have the resources, backing, and environment they need to thrive.
Focusing on Student Success: Keeping students at the center of every board vote and discussion.
Being Visible & Approachable: Staying active and accessible within local schools and community events to hear directly from constituents.

Chad will serve out the remainder of the current term through 2028 and has already expressed his intention to run for reelection at that time.
