At the January Springdale School Board Meeting, Workforce Director Rodney Ellis recognized several local business and industry partners for their support to the school district by providing employment opportunities for our graduates and internships for our current students. The organizations recognized were Cargill, EforAll, Flintco, & Legacy National Bank.

Assistant Principal, Jody Johnson, of Jim D. Rollins School of Innovation, guided School Board members as they enjoyed lunch with students. The board was treated to an instructional session on how the Rollins school culture develops student confidence. Second-grade teachers Jessie Walls and Alyxx Ramsey, along with several students, demonstrated the morning pledges and "Learning Powers."

Congratulations to Morene Mote, J.O. Kelly's Middle School student, for being the Springdale Schools Dream Award Winner! This award is part of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Project, sponsored by Walmart, where students submit an essay expressing how the student will continue to advance the mission of Dr. King's Legacy. Walmart awarded J.O. Kelly $500 as part of the award.

Third grade students at Turnbow Elementary Zoomed with a United States Space Force Guardian on Thursday as part of the STEM to Space program. Students met Retired US Air Force space officer, Michael Morton, who is now working for the Space Force in their Satellite Operations department at the Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Students learned about the role of STEM in space and military careers, and the importance of a great education, starting in elementary school. #STEMtoSpace #SprindaleFamily
